    (S/M#H176-14). Year 4. One of the more important offerings, and a piece that will highlight any collection it enters. This 50 Taels note is a very large vertical format showing the common for the series bordering design. Dragons are seen at left, right and top with turbulent ocean below. Large square stamped seals seen at center, left, and right. Bold ink stands out, with stamping seen on the reverse. PMG’s pop report states they have encapsulated just 8 of this variety. PMG comments “Minor Repairs, Spindle Holes.”

    (S/M#C293). Shanghai. PMG has graded a scant two of these according to their Pop report, with this being the second finest known. Printed in bold red ink with light yellow undertone. Menacing dragons facing at top on face and reverse. PMG comments “Perforation Cancelled” and “Contemporary Annotation.” The highest denomination of three denominations from this series that we are offering. Exceptional eye appeal, and a rare opportunity.

    (S/M#C283-14). Block 234. A piece which always brings excitement, particularly in issued form, and one of the highlights of our People’s Republic section. The note is quite inspiring as the format is significantly larger than others from the 1953 series. Gray-black inks make up the basic design and “Farm Couple” vignette at center with red signature seals and serial numbers. Extended left end seen with “10” counter, lower and watermark at top.

A nearly Gem example of this 10 Dollars note, with PMGs pop report listing just two graded by their service, and this being the second finest to be encapsulated by them. Ornate red border seen on front and back, with wide margins standing out. PMG comments “Perforation Cancelled” and “Contemporary Annotation.” Pairs excellently with the prior lot, and the following lot.
